Aftercare After Skin Treatment in Seoul
Good aftercare protects your result and lowers the risk of side effects. Below are general instructions used by dermatologists after common treatments. Always follow the written instructions your dermatologist at The Heal Dermatology gives you, as they are tailored to your skin and procedure.
After laser and light treatments
- Use a gentle cleanser and a plain moisturiser; avoid scrubs, retinoids and acids until your dermatologist allows them.
- Apply broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 50+) every day and reapply outdoors; wear a hat.
- Do not pick crusts or flakes. Mild redness for hours to a few days is common depending on the laser.
After radiofrequency, HIFU and lifting
- Mild redness, swelling or tenderness usually settles within days.
- Avoid saunas, hot baths and intense exercise for a few days.
After Botox
- Stay upright for about 4 hours; do not massage or press the treated area.
- Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas and alcohol on the day of treatment.
- Results appear over several days to about two weeks.
After fillers and collagen stimulators
- Swelling and bruising are common for several days; cold compresses help.
- Seek urgent advice for increasing pain, skin colour change (white, blue or dusky), or any change in vision – these can signal a vascular complication.
- For Sculptra-type products, follow the massage instructions you are given.
After skin boosters and injections
- Small bumps and pinpoint marks usually fade within 1–3 days.
- Avoid makeup for the period advised, usually until the next day.
Flying home
Most patients can fly after non-invasive treatments. Plan treatments with visible downtime earlier in your trip. Read flying after Botox and flying after fillers .
