International Patient Guide: Seeing a Dermatologist in Seoul

The Heal Dermatology Sinsa Main Branch welcomes patients from Taiwan, Japan, the United States, Southeast Asia and around the world. Here is how to plan treatment with a Korean board-certified dermatologist during your stay in Seoul – from your first message to follow-up after you fly home.

Step 1 – Message us on WhatsApp before you travel

Send a message to our WhatsApp with your main concern, clear photos in daylight without makeup, past treatments, medications (especially isotretinoin, blood thinners or retinoids), allergies, and your arrival and departure dates. Write in English or Traditional Chinese.

Step 2 – Receive an initial outline

We reply with available appointment times and a provisional outline of treatments that may suit your concern and schedule. Final decisions are always made in person by the dermatologist after examination.

Step 3 – Consultation and skin analysis in Seoul

At the clinic, a board-certified dermatologist examines your skin, uses imaging-based skin analysis where useful, explains options, risks, number of sessions and downtime, and gives you a written quote before treatment.

Step 4 – Treatment in a private room

Many treatments can be done on the same day as the consultation. Procedures with more downtime are scheduled early in your trip so the dermatologist can check you before you leave.

Step 5 – Aftercare and follow-up from home

You receive written aftercare instructions. After returning home you can message us on WhatsApp with photos if you have questions. See aftercare and follow-up after returning home .

Planning tips

  • Book laser resurfacing, subcision or anything with visible downtime at least 5–7 days before your flight.
  • Avoid saunas, jjimjilbang, intense exercise and alcohol for the period your dermatologist advises.
  • Bring a high-SPF sunscreen and a hat ; Seoul's UV can be strong from spring to autumn.
  • Saturdays fill quickly – book early if you only have a weekend.

  • Can I do a consultation and treatment on the same day?

Usually yes. After examination, many non-invasive treatments such as toning lasers, Botox or skin boosters can be performed the same day if the dermatologist considers them suitable.

  • Do you provide an interpreter?

English and Traditional Chinese support can be arranged on request. Please mention your language when booking so we can prepare.

  • What if I have a problem after I return home?

Message us on WhatsApp with photos and a description. Our dermatologists will advise you and, where needed, recommend seeing a local dermatologist with a summary of the treatment you received.
