Dermal Fillers in Seoul by Board-Certified Dermatologists
Dermal fillers are injectable gels, most often hyaluronic acid, used to restore lost volume, soften folds and refine facial contours with results visible immediately. At The Heal Dermatology Sinsa Main Branch in Gangnam, Seoul, board-certified dermatologists plan conservative, natural-looking filler treatment using genuine products after a 1:1 facial assessment.

How it works
Dermal fillers are gel injections, most commonly made of hyaluronic acid (HA), placed under the skin to restore volume, smooth folds and refine contours. HA is a sugar molecule naturally present in skin that binds water. Different products vary in firmness and are chosen for different depths and areas, such as cheeks, temples, chin, nasolabial folds, lips or under the eyes. HA fillers are gradually broken down by the body and can be dissolved with an enzyme (hyaluronidase) if needed.
Who it's for
Fillers are typically considered by adults with age-related volume loss, deep folds, or those wanting subtle contour balance. A careful facial assessment matters more than the product itself, since natural results depend on proportion and conservative volume.

- Results: visible immediately, settling over about 1–2 weeks

- Aftercare: avoid pressure, massage, heavy exercise, saunas and alcohol for about 24–48 hours
Risks & who should avoid
Common effects include swelling, tenderness, bruising and small lumps that usually settle. Rare but serious risks include infection, delayed nodules, and vascular occlusion, where filler blocks a blood vessel; this requires urgent treatment, which is why anatomy knowledge and an experienced doctor are important. Fillers are generally avoided during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with active skin infection or cold sores at the site, or with allergy to product components.

Frequently asked questions
How long do dermal fillers last?
Hyaluronic acid fillers commonly last around six to eighteen months. Longevity depends on the product, the area treated, the amount used and your metabolism. Areas with more movement, such as lips, tend to break down sooner than deeper cheek placements.
Can filler be reversed?
Hyaluronic acid fillers can usually be dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase if the result is unwanted or a complication occurs. Non-HA products such as calcium hydroxylapatite or poly-L-lactic acid cannot be dissolved this way, so product choice is discussed in advance.
What is the most serious risk of filler?
The most serious, though rare, risk is vascular occlusion, where filler blocks a blood vessel. Warning signs include severe pain, skin colour change or vision problems. It needs immediate treatment, so contact the clinic or emergency care at once. See complications guide.
