Sylfirm X RF Microneedling in Seoul for Melasma and Redness
Sylfirm X is a radiofrequency microneedling device with pulsed and continuous modes, used to target melasma-related vessels, redness and texture, as well as pores and fine scarring. At The Heal Dermatology Sinsa Main Branch in Gangnam, Seoul, a board-certified dermatologist decides whether this approach suits your skin and confirms device availability.

How it works
Fine needles deliver radiofrequency energy into the dermis. A pulsed-wave mode is designed to selectively heat abnormal small vessels and the damaged basement membrane associated with melasma and redness, while a continuous mode creates coagulation zones for collagen remodelling. The surface is largely preserved, so recovery is short.
Who it's for
It is often considered for melasma that has not responded well to toning alone, facial redness, rosacea-related flushing (in stable phases), enlarged pores and mild scarring. It is usually combined with sun protection and topical care.
What to expect at The Heal Sinsa
Every visit to The Heal Dermatology Sinsa Main Branch, on the 7th floor of Sinsa Square near Sinsa Station, starts with a 1:1 consultation with a Korean board-certified dermatologist and imaging-based skin analysis. Your doctor checks whether Sylfirm X actually suits your concern, explains alternatives honestly, and chooses conservative settings. Treatment is done in a private single room, and English or Traditional Chinese support is available on request. Before your visit, note your current medicines, skincare products, allergies and previous procedures so the doctor can plan safely. Pricing is confirmed after consultation; see pricing and payment. Availability of specific devices varies by branch – confirm at consultation.
Sessions & downtime
- Sessions: typically 3–5, about 2–4 weeks apart
- Treatment time: about 20–30 minutes plus numbing
- Comfort: numbing cream applied; prickling sensation
- Downtime: redness and small marks for about 1–2 days
- Results: gradual; melasma still requires maintenance
Risks & who should avoid
Possible effects include redness, swelling, pinpoint bleeding, temporary marks and, uncommonly, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation or acne flares. Avoid during pregnancy, with active infection, a flaring rosacea or dermatitis, an implanted electronic device, keloid tendency, or recent isotretinoin unless your dermatologist advises otherwise. If you notice increasing pain, spreading redness, blistering, discharge or fever after treatment, contact the clinic promptly and read what to do if complications occur.
Planning around your trip to Seoul
Short downtime makes Sylfirm X compatible with a few days in Seoul, but a course is spread over weeks. Keep sun exposure low and avoid saunas for a couple of days. Read treatment before a flight and how many days to plan, and visit international patients or getting here before you book.

Frequently asked questions
How is Sylfirm X different from laser toning?
Laser toning targets melanin with light, while Sylfirm X uses radiofrequency through needles to address the dermal vessels and structural changes linked to melasma and redness. They are sometimes combined. Your dermatologist decides based on your pattern of pigment.
Does Sylfirm X cure melasma?
No treatment cures melasma. Sylfirm X may reduce pigment and redness as part of a plan that includes sunscreen and topical treatment, but melasma can recur, especially with sun, heat or hormonal changes.
Is Sylfirm X available at every branch?
Specific devices vary by branch. During your consultation, the dermatologist will confirm whether Sylfirm X or a comparable RF microneedling option is available at the Sinsa Main Branch, and explain alternatives if it is not.
