Potenza RF Microneedling in Gangnam, Seoul
Potenza is a radiofrequency microneedling device that delivers heat through fine needles into the dermis to stimulate collagen, improving acne scars, enlarged pores, texture and some redness with short downtime. At The Heal Dermatology Sinsa Main Branch in Gangnam, Seoul, a board-certified dermatologist tailors needle depth and tip to your skin.

How it works
Insulated or non-insulated microneedles penetrate to a set depth and release radiofrequency energy, creating small heated zones that trigger wound healing and collagen remodelling. Because energy is delivered below the surface, the outer skin is relatively spared. Different tips and modes allow treatment of scars, pores or inflammatory concerns.
Who it's for
It is commonly used for acne scars, enlarged pores, rough texture and mild laxity. Because RF energy is not absorbed by pigment, it is often considered for darker skin types where lasers carry more pigment risk.

Sessions & downtime
- Sessions: typically 3–5, about 4 weeks apart

- Comfort: numbing cream applied; prickling and heat
- Downtime: redness and tiny needle marks for about 1–3 days
- Results: build gradually over 2–3 months
Risks & who should avoid
Expect redness, swelling and pinpoint marks. Less commonly, bruising, temporary grid marks, acne flares or post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation occur. Avoid during pregnancy, with active infection or open wounds, a pacemaker or certain metal implants in the area, keloid tendency, or recent isotretinoin unless your dermatologist approves. If you notice increasing pain, spreading redness, blistering, discharge or fever after treatment, contact the clinic promptly and read what to do if complications occur.
Planning around your trip to Seoul
Potenza works well on trips of a few days: redness usually settles within one to three days. Avoid saunas, heavy exercise and swimming for a couple of days. Read treatment before a flight and how many days to plan, and visit international patients or getting here before you book.

Frequently asked questions
How many Potenza sessions are needed for acne scars?
Most people are advised three to five sessions about four weeks apart. Scar depth and type influence the plan, and Potenza is often combined with subcision or boosters. Improvement is gradual, not complete scar removal.
Is Potenza suitable for darker skin?
RF microneedling is often considered for darker skin types because radiofrequency energy does not target pigment directly. Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation can still occur, so conservative settings and sun protection are used.
How long does redness last after Potenza?
Redness and tiny needle marks usually fade within one to three days, depending on depth and settings. Gentle cleansing, moisturiser and sunscreen are recommended, and makeup is typically resumed the next day if the skin is intact.
