Excel V Vascular Laser in Gangnam, Seoul

Excel V is a vascular laser platform combining 532 nm and 1064 nm wavelengths to treat facial redness, visible capillaries, rosacea and some pigmented spots with typically short recovery. At The Heal Dermatology Sinsa Main Branch in Gangnam, Seoul, a board-certified dermatologist assesses vessel size and depth before choosing a laser.

How it works

The 532 nm green wavelength is absorbed by haemoglobin and melanin, suiting fine superficial vessels and some brown spots. The 1064 nm Nd:YAG wavelength penetrates deeper for larger, bluish vessels. A cooled contact window protects the skin surface during treatment.

Who it's for

It is generally used for facial redness, broken capillaries around the nose and cheeks, rosacea, cherry angiomas and selected sun spots. Darker skin types need extra caution with 532 nm.

What to expect at The Heal Sinsa

Every visit to The Heal Dermatology Sinsa Main Branch, on the 7th floor of Sinsa Square near Sinsa Station, starts with a 1:1 consultation with a Korean board-certified dermatologist and imaging-based skin analysis. Your doctor checks whether Excel V actually suits your concern, explains alternatives honestly, and chooses conservative settings. Treatment is done in a private single room, and English or Traditional Chinese support is available on request. Before your visit, note your current medicines, skincare products, allergies and previous procedures so the doctor can plan safely. Pricing is confirmed after consultation; see pricing and payment. Availability of specific devices varies by branch – confirm at consultation.

Sessions & downtime

  • Sessions: typically 1–4, about 4–6 weeks apart
  • Treatment time: about 15–30 minutes
  • Comfort: heat and snapping; cooling built in
  • Downtime: redness and swelling 1–3 days; vessels may look darker before fading
  • Results: individual vessels can clear quickly; diffuse redness improves gradually

Risks & who should avoid

Possible effects include redness, swelling, bruising, crusting, temporary pigment change and rarely blistering or scarring. Avoid during pregnancy, with active infection, a recent tan, or photosensitising medicines unless discussed. Tell your dermatologist about cold sores and isotretinoin use. If you notice increasing pain, spreading redness, blistering, discharge or fever after treatment, contact the clinic promptly and read what to do if complications occur.

Planning around your trip to Seoul

Most people return to normal activities the same or next day, so Excel V fits into a short trip. Swelling can be more visible the morning after treatment. Read treatment before a flight and how many days to plan, and visit international patients or getting here before you book.

Frequently asked questions

Is Excel V better than Vbeam?

Neither is universally better. Both treat vessels; Excel V offers 532 nm and 1064 nm options, while Vbeam is a 595 nm pulsed dye laser. The choice depends on vessel type, skin tone and device availability, which your dermatologist reviews.

Can broken capillaries come back after laser?

Treated vessels usually do not return, but new ones can form over time due to sun exposure, genetics, rosacea or temperature changes. Daily sun protection, gentle skincare and occasional maintenance sessions help keep the skin clearer.

Does Excel V treat brown spots as well as redness?

The 532 nm wavelength can treat some superficial brown spots in addition to vessels. Your dermatologist will first confirm the spots are benign and decide whether this or a pigment laser is more suitable.
