Radiesse (CaHA) Injectable in Seoul by Dermatologists

Radiesse is a calcium hydroxylapatite injectable that gives immediate volume and then stimulates collagen over the following months, often used for cheek and jawline contour or skin firmness. At The Heal Dermatology Sinsa Main Branch in Gangnam, Seoul, a board-certified dermatologist compares it with other collagen stimulators and confirms product availability at consultation.

How it works

Radiesse is an injectable made of calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres in a gel carrier. It provides some immediate lift and volume from the gel, and the microspheres then act as a scaffold that stimulates collagen production over the following months. When diluted (hyperdiluted), it is also used more as a skin-quality treatment to improve firmness, including on the neck.

Who it's for

It is typically considered by adults with moderate volume loss, jawline or cheek contour concerns, or mild skin laxity. It is not used in the lips or directly under the eyes. Because it cannot be dissolved like hyaluronic acid filler, careful planning is important.

Sessions & downtime

  • Sessions: often 1–2 treatments, depending on goals and dilution
  • Procedure time: typically 20–40 minutes
  • Results: some immediate effect, with gradual improvement over about 2–3 months
  • Duration: commonly around 12–18 months, varying by person

Risks & who should avoid

Common effects include swelling, redness, tenderness and bruising. Nodules can occur, and the product cannot be dissolved with hyaluronidase. Vascular occlusion is rare but serious. It is generally avoided during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with active skin infection, a tendency to keloids, or bleeding disorders. Calcium-based particles can show on X-ray, so tell radiologists you have had it.

Planning around your trip to Seoul

A single session can fit into a short stay, but final results develop after you return home. Allow a few days for swelling before photos and travel. See flying after filler. See international patients and getting here for practical details.

Frequently asked questions

How long does Radiesse last?

Radiesse commonly lasts around twelve to eighteen months, as collagen built in response to the microspheres continues to support the skin. Duration varies with metabolism, area treated, and whether it is used undiluted for volume or diluted for skin quality.

Can Radiesse be dissolved?

No. Unlike hyaluronic acid filler, calcium hydroxylapatite cannot be dissolved with hyaluronidase. Any lumps usually need other management, so a conservative plan and appropriate placement are especially important. This is discussed before deciding on treatment.

Is Radiesse the same as Sculptra?

Both are collagen stimulators, but they use different materials. Radiesse uses calcium hydroxylapatite and provides some immediate volume, while Sculptra uses poly-L-lactic acid and works more gradually. Your dermatologist will explain which suits your face.
